Turbine, the makers of Asheron's Call, LotRO, and DDO, have secured $40 million dollars in venture capital. Venture Capital is usually used for new products or services.

 

Turbine so far has focused on subscription-based MMO role-playing games like Lord of the Rings Online and Dungeon & Dragons Online, but soon is expected to announce some major strategic change.
